Jiatong and Kajal worked with ASYV (Agahozo Shalom Youth Village) in Rwanda, Africa to refactor their Alumni Management System (AMS) allowing them to better track alumni outcomes and connect the ASYV community online.

Agahozo-Shalom Youth Village (ASYV) is a nonprofit in Rwanda founded in 2008 by Anne Heyman and inspired by the Israeli youth village model. Their mission is to empower orphaned and vulnerable Rwandan youth to build lives of dignity and contribute to a better world. Kajal Mehta, working on a two-person team with Jiatong Li, redesigned the Alumni Management System (AMS) to create fully responsive layouts for all screen sizes, including simplified one-column views for small devices, overhauled the mobile navigation design and restructured components (e.g., alumni profiles, directory cards) for clarity and accessibility. This was tested live with alumni on four phone models to ensure usability. In addition, they worked with the Career Resource Center (CRC) to redesign the backend database schema and align it with new front-end tools to enable scalable, filterable, and actionable data tracking.
