Scholarship Stats & Snapshots: A Smart Solution for Speedy Reporting

Fatou worked with the Development Department of SENATI to automatically transform financial data on scholarships and create all tables and charts needed for monthly report preparation. The time to prepare the report was reduced significantly from several hours to less than an hour. In addition, she audited, corrected and updated a PowerBI dashboard presenting live data on scholarships and students.
SENATI is Peru’s leading technical and vocational training institute headquartered in Lima and operating 64 campuses across the country. Within SENATI’s headquarters, the Development (Desarrollo) Department manages scholarship programs, program partnerships, and national and international collaborations. Each month SENATI’s Finance department extracts relevant scholarship data, transforms it into spreadsheets and sends it to the Development Department for input to their monthly scholarship reports. This process consumed approximately 28 hours each month. Fatou, working with Finance and Development, automated the work needed to transform the financial data and feed it into Power BI. Using PowerBI she created the necessary tables and charts for the monthly reports, reducing the time needed each month. Additionally, Fatou updated a PowerBI dashboard that had fallen out of use. She audited the dashboard to discover where data inaccuracies were, and corrected the issues found to improve the reliability of the dashboard for current use and future maintenance.
